Great App That integrates with PC & Web version. Can be improved, but v good as is now
They did a great job with Producteev app. Its easy to use, is reliable, has many features & options (many others apps are limited versions of web version), and most importantly integrates with other interfaces (its cloud based so you can shift easily between this app & the web version for example). Its also relatively flexible. You can add sub-tasks, add projects, add diff tags (I use tags to apply GTD system), and can get push notifications (vs annoying emails). I also like that I can set a specific time for a task due date (or keep for all day).
Most importantly, I can have my team on the Producteev & manage assigning & following up on tasks. We can add attachments, which really helps minimize the need for emails & keeps things centralized where they are relevant.
There are a lot if features, which are great.
Where I think it can improve:
- Offline editing. This used to be there before but was lost with the major upgrade. You cant open the App without being connected. I sometimes need to use the app on an airplane or somewhere with a poor signal (eg elevator) & need to be able to add the task before forgetting. I know it complicates things, but Evernote figured it out very nicely.
- Link to Google Docs. There is already a link to DropBox, which is great. Its nice to have google docs there too.
- Link to calendar (google or iCal) for tasks that have a specific time for due date. This helps close the loop since I am manually adding the deadline & time block to work on a task in the calendar. Having push notification has made this less important, but its still Nice to have.
- Linking take to SalesForce would also be nice.
- Purely cosmetic, but the interface is a little dark, which makes it feel stuffy & cluttered. I would much rather have the side bar in a lighter color (maybe the blue from their logo instead if dark gray). This is being picky.
Summary: great app with tons of useful features. Minor tweets can really make this the Evernote of task management apps.
